This corrosion is due to unpassivated boiler metal and a total lack of water treatment. Don’t let this happen to your boiler. With proper water treatment and the accepted method of dry storage we can bring many years of service life to your live steam or commercial boiler.

This is an example of severe oxygen pitting due to the lack of proper water treatment. Whether you use softened or hard water we have a treatment solution for your specific application.

This is an example of an untreated condensate system. The most you can hope for is a neutral ph on your steam and condensate with no treatment. Due to the lack of treatment CO2 gets into the system and causes carbonic acid. This will quickly damage any condensate return loop.

This is a picture of a Hobby Boiler Crown Sheet Failure. In some areas of this boiler more than seventy percent of the boiler metal has wasted away due to corrosion. This was due to lack of proper water treatment, poor maintenance, not following standard steam engineering practices and inspections. Proper water treatment and regular inspections at a six month interval would have prevented this failure.
