This is another 1 1/2" scale oil burner built in the A & K Railway Shops. This design closely follows the criteria for the oil burners Chet Peterson built and used on his Northern of 1 1/2" scale. We understand he only used one of these burners in his Daylight and his UP 4-8-4. It is approximately 2 9/32" long and 1/2" in diameter. The oil inlet section is approximately 2/3" long and 9/32" in diameter as to allow for a mounting bracket. The steam and oil ports are 1/4" 40 TPI Model Engineer Series and are side and end mount. This unit is silvered at the but and is approximately 3.65 on the steam oil area ratio. This is an improved and tested design. Our machine shop will be producing this type of oil burner as well as other proven designs.
